2023 Sanderson Farms Championship is set to take place at the Country Club of Jackson between 5 and 8 October.
What to know about the tournament
The tournament has been part of the PGA Tour schedule since 1968 when it was established and has raised more than $8.1 million for statewide charities.
Originally played at the Hattiesburg Country Club in Hattiesburg, the event moved in 1994 to Annandale Golf Club in Madison, which hosted through 2013.
It moved to Jackson in 2014 and since 2013, the tournament's title sponsor has been Sanderson Farms, a poultry farming corporation based in Laurel, Mississippi.
The field
There will be 144 players in the field including major champions Jimmy Walker and Jason Dufner who will join 2022 Sanderson Farms Championship winner Mackenzie Hughes.
Also joining the 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship field is European player Ludvig Åberg, Sweden (2023 Omega European Masters Winner and 2023 Ryder Cup team member).
The above list of players joins former tournament champions Cameron Champ (2018), Ryan Armour (2017), Cody Gribble (2016), Peter Malnati (2015), Scott Stallings (2012), D. J. Trahan (2006).
What Is At Stake
The 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship features an $8.2 million purse, with $1.4 million going to the winner who will earn 500 FedEx Cup points.
The champion will also enjoy the benefits of winning a PGA Tour event, including a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour.
Furthermore, an exemption into next year's Masters, PGA Championship, The Players as well as the Tournament of Champions.
